They look for authenticity and calm rather than nightlife, so house rules and relations with neighbours are easy to look after.
In summer, when island residents and mainland travellers look for the north coast, and at Easter and long weekends. The San Juan festivities in June also drive local demand. Winter is quieter than in the south, with hikers and touring travellers.
